| Thallus pale fawn to off-white, smooth, dull. Ascomata conspicuous, numerous, crowded, black, sessile, usually simple, rarely branched, straight, curved or sinuous, finely sulcate, lacking a thalline margin, 0.7–3.0 (–4.0) mm long, 0.10–0.25 mm wide; lips closed. Proper exciple laterally carbonised, open at the base. Hymenium 80–100 µm thick, inspersed. Ascospores 8 per ascus, elongate-ellipsoidal, transversely 8-locular, (20–) 24–30 × 5–6 µm, I+ blue. CHEMISTRY: No lichen compounds detected |
